THE EGO, THE SELF, AND THE OBJECT RELATIONS IN “MOURNING AND MELANCHOLIA”
“Mourning and Melancholia” by Freud, dwelled on the basic issues in terms of the self and object relations. He also discussed the relation of the ego with the self and object representations.
OBJECT IS WHERE WE START FROM
Many analysts have explored concretization processes of human. Winnicott, on the other hand, particularly emphasized the importance of the concrete and actual existence of the transitional object. I will focus on this point in my talk.
FREUD'S CASE: RAT MAN
This case clearly illustrates the way Freud works with and understands the patient, much better than any of Freud's other cases. It is also very valuable in terms of having the originals of the session notes of Freud.
THE RAW MOMENT OF “I AM”
Winnicott described the development of the moment of I AM in various papers. This paper especially focuses on his speech, ‘Sum, I AM,’ and reviews Winnicott’s definitions of the raw moment of I AM.
